The Find
These end tables have definitely seen better days, but combined with a pile of found 2x4s and I think we might just have a beautiful outdoor sitting area. The wife had been wanting a bench for the backyard for last couple years, but I kept putting her off by telling her I could build something. With this find I might just be out of the dog house.
The Build
I started by sanding down the end tables and reattaching some of the wood veneer that was curling up.
I then cut down the 2x4s to size and nailed everything together.
I gave the whole thing a good sanding making it nice and smooth. No butt splinters here.
Using some left over paint, I gave it a fresh pop of color.
And there she sits with a great view of the pool and grass. It’s official, this is my very first AlleyLux piece.
What's AlleyLux?
AlleyLux is a passion project started by me, Mike Alonzo. I've always struggled with waste and even flirted with hoarding. There is just so much usable material discarded everyday, that I figured I would try and do something with it. I explore my neighborhood alleys liberating junk, or as I like to call it, potential, in an effort to give it new life.
